Scrot - Teufelsrhythmus (Import 12 Inch / 1990)

01 Teufelsrhythmus (Techno Mix) 5:55
02 Teufelsrhythmus 5:58
03 Teufelsrhythmus (Techno 7 Inch Mix) 3:58

Random ZYX Records post for the day. Over the course of thirty years and some 3,000+ releases, ZYX has covered a multitude of artists and music styles. My favorite time frame was the late eighties and early nineties releases. The mid nineties was a falling out period, well, at least for me. The collaboration that formed Scrot had a total of three releases. This was their second release. I never heard this played at the local clubs I used to go to, but it was a big success in Germany and other European cities. I was introduced to this on a local college radio station (way back then)! Thank you to Tom Crawford and his Monday night 5-7:30 show on the mighty 91.7 WMSE. Thanks to KY for the record choices! :) All art and recordings are directly from this original release. Enjoy!

    1. Thanks F.H.! I have a ton more where that came from. I'm able to work with so many angles. I need to start posting all the ones I have on hold...and it's a variety of musical styles and backgrounds. Like usual. lol!

    2. I love everything you post, because it's never the kind of stuff you can find everywhere else, and because I used to think that I was the only one, who ever bought that record ... lol

    3. Truth! Hence the 'Sidestepping' so to speak. I just don't want to get caught up in a rut of just one style. :)

    2. I keep going back to their old stuff, but am not at all familiar with their newer material ... lol

P.W.E.I. is another one of those bands that I only bought on vinyl back then because I would play it in the clubs, but I don't think I have ever listened to a full album by them ... lol ... so, it's time to sit down and go through their material without going to the obvious choices:

    3. Thanks! PWEI, I'm with you in regards to actually listening to a full length all the way through. I think 'Box Frenzy' was the closet I've been to actually 'digging' the entire thing...lol!

    2. I know you don't do much oldschool Punk here, but the 40th anniversary edition of the first Ramones album should peak your interest anyways (includes mono mixes and demos): https://mega.nz/#!NVUxzTrB!ADmX3gBtKK3SEnTaS65lbwBid04A643C0h4bjEsrI5s

    5. I figured you were, only because we agree in all other musical releases ... lol

I know the demos were already included in some previous re-releases, but the new Mono mixes, and in fact the new remaster, are actually well done. I'm usually not a big fan of live recordings, but in the case of Ramones, I make an exception. They were such an intense live band, probably one of the best live shows I have ever seen. Their true punk nature came out live with every song being played at twice the speed, only interrupted by various 1.2.3.4's ... never quite comes through in the same way in recordings
