Robotiko Rejekto - Rejekto! (Import 12 Inch / 1987)

01 Rejekto! (Perfekto Mix) 6:01
02 Rejekto! (U.S. Dub) 5:56

Getting back on track here from several weeks ago. I've had this post ready for sometime. The first release by Robotiko Rejekto! Two mixes, both recorded from the vinyl! My plan was to purchase the larger 'Umsturz Jetzt' remaster CD and then just add them to the post. I did order never came. So I ordered another and while waiting for that to arrive, this 12 inch sold on Discogs. At that point, I decided to record it and get all the scans done proper. I'll post the 'Umsturz Jetzt' compilation a bit later on. Here is the original with the spoken introductions. Not that I'm too critical, but I am sometimes, I find the recording fine, but you can tell the vinyl has been played out a bit. It still sounds good, but I can here dropped beats and bass in parts. The CD remaster is awesome (IMO), but I also know many of you prefer the vinyl recordings. Either way...Enjoy and thanks for the patience!

V/A - Trance Europe Express (Import 2 CD / 1993)

A quick request for a desperate viewer/reader/blog friend! A while back I began to post the now infamous UK Volume Series that began back in 1990. This release is from the same group, just taking another direction in music that was sweeping over rave chill-rooms everywhere. This 2 CD set came out between the release of UK Vol. 7 and UK Vol. 8. It's a who's who of classic and upcoming new artists with skills that make you get all 'Soma' like. I really don't need to explain much more, but if you weren't raving at that time, you probably missed out on some of the most brilliant ambient tracks of the time. Here is more information regarding the release. All recordings & art are from my compilation. The tray art is a bit messed up due to my 'folded' copy, but I tried to even it out...sort of. OK...thanks for the request. I'm dropping this into the blog now, close to case you need that feel! Enjoy!

V/A - The Enigma Variations (Double LP / 1985)

I've been wanting to post this one for sometime. What can I say about this release? An incredible cross section of artists from the now long gone Southern California 'Enigma' label. This was before the label went on to represent the hair metal band Poison and a bunch of other 'good' odd ducks. Each record side represents several groups with similar musical backgrounds. I bought this in 1986 and immediately let it play continually. Side four was a particular favorite. So, whatever your musical tastes, I'm certain you will find something on this compilation to prize. All art is from my release. The recordings are taken from the CD version of the same name, except  six tracks that I recorded from the vinyl as they were not included on the disc version. Happy Friday friends!

China Crisis - Hanna Hanna (European 12 Inch / 1984)

01 Hanna Hanna (Extended) 5:15
02 Here Come A Raincloud (Live) 6:04
03 African And White (Live) 3:43

Continuing on with my China Crisis 12 inch releases. Going back to 1984. Another superb release as the band itself was about to go into overdrive and become known world wide. This is all from my original 12 inch that I purchased way back when. Here's a link for more info. Not much more to say. Enjoy!

The Damned - Eloise (US 12 Inch / 1986)

01 Eloise 5:09
02 Beat Girl 2:17
03 Temptation 4:05

04 Eloise (Version) 7:49
05 Eloise (Extravagant Mix) 9:34
06 Eloise (No Sleep Until Wednesday 6:50 Mix) 6:50

I recently ordered the Damned's 'Phantasmagoria' and I re-ordered 'Anything' as well. Both were remastered and expanded in 2009. Not sure why I sold my original 2009 disc. Oh well. Either way, I was going through my diminished Damned 12 inch collection and realized I needed the upgraded discs to compensate for vinyl I once had! A good collection is the MCA release 'A Sides' and 'B Sides', but the quality of the recordings on the discs is for beginners only.

The mid-80's was the time I discovered/danced/enjoyed the band. It wasn't until after this time frame that I would begin to understand the depth and background of their full catalogue. This is one of the twelve inches I still have. Here's more Info  on the release. I've included a bunch of bonus mixes as well. A few are from the 2009 Remaster of 'Anything' and the 'No Sleep...' remix was taken from YouTube and then cleaned up and tweaked a bit (not my original recording). All art is from the better of the two releases I have. Enjoy friends!

Alphaville - Forever Young (French Import 12 Inch / 1984)

01 Forever Young (Special Dance Mix) 6:07
02 Forever Young 3:44
03 Welcome To The Sun 3:10

I didn't really have plans to post this one, but given that I just sold it on Discogs and only bought it 3 weeks ago, forced me to make some scans and recordings before I ship it. I paid $1 for it and sold it for $3. Not a big profit, but it's shipping with six other records. Now I share it with you! As you can see the back and front covers are nearly the same except for the WEA logo. The recordings have been taken from remastered recordings I already own, basically the Blank & Jones 'So80's Alphaville' release. All the art is from my original twelve inch. Here's a Discogs link to the actual release. Enjoy!

Paul Haig - Heaven Sent (UK 12 Inch / 1983)

01 Heaven Sent 7:20
02 Running Away / Back Home 5:59

Part two of my Paul Haig posts. It just so happens that when I purchased the previous 12 inch 'The Only Truth', this 12 inch was right next to why not. Another introduction for me to the Paul Haig catalogue. Following these purchases, I began to collect the remainder of his early-mid eighties releases. There is the background for you. All recordings and scans are from my vinyl. Here is more info for you...Discogs.  Enjoy!

Paul Haig - The Only Truth (UK 12 Inch / 1984)

01 The Only Truth (U.S. Remix) 7:04
02 The Only Truth (Instrumental) 7:01
03 Ghost Rider 3:03

Dropping a few Paul Haig 12 inches into the mix. This track is actually the first song I had ever heard by him. I have to thank my friend Robert for the Wolfram video collection he had back in 1988 / 1989. It was on one of those VHS tapes that this track appeared. Following that, it appeared on a lot of my mix tapes I had made. This is the 7+ minute version as opposed to the 3:49 album version from 'The Warp Of Pure Fun' The instrumental is just that but with added guitar work. 'Ghost Ride' takes a 180 turn on the electronic idea and goes for a full on western cow-punk craze. OK...stay tuned for another lovely track from Mr. Haig soon! Enjoy!

The Only: Truth

Frazier Chorus - Sloppy Heart (UK 12 Inch / 1987)

01 Sloppy Heart 5:48
02 Typical 2:56
03 Storm 3:46

Another fine record from the 4 A.D. label! Frazier Chorus and Tim Freeman were outstanding in the late 80's. I quite honestly have been wanting to include this on my blog ever since I started it six years ago. I have a mint copy of this in my 4 A.D. record collection...and I have one up on Discogs as well. All the tracks on here are alternative versions of the ones included on the 'Sue' release, so it's a worthy download for you fans out there. All the recording and art are from my twelve inch. Enjoy! Happy Weekend!

Gene Loves Jezebel - Discover (2 CD Deluxe Remaster / 2013)

I had several requests for this release after I posted the twelve inch of 'Desire'. I thought I'd throw it into the mix today as I prep a few other (time consuming) vinyl selections for the blog. This remaster is quite descent. The mix is not brick walled, but sounds clean and punchy. The inclusion of the second CD with all the mixes is great too. I pretty much have most of the twelve inch releases from the 1986 'Discover' years, so this is saving me some time from actually recording them from vinyl like a did years ago for my DJing gigs. There might be a few b-sides missing, but that you will have to dig into on the Discogs site for. All good! Recordings and art are from my personal copy. Enjoy!
