Robotiko Rejekto - Confusion (Import CDS / 1989)

01 Confusion (Are-U Mix) 5:18
02 Confusion (Dubbed) 5:26
03 Confusion (CD Mix) 5:44

My first post since switching internet providers. Thanks for hanging with me while I ironed out all the details. A bit more than I was expecting, but happy to have switched and plan on saving my monies for more important things! OK...let's move on, shall we?

Today's post is part of the Robotiko Rejekto conglomerate that I had promised earlier. As you can see, the art I used is from the scans of my the actual 12 Inch. I also have the CDS (Thanks to KY!) from which I uploaded these tracks. A bit of 'confusion'? I can provide a FLAC or losseless copy of this CDS too. I know some of you have pointed out in the past that you may prefer the actual vinyl recordings to the CD, so let me know if you would like that option. I prefer to hear some feedback regarding the 'Vinyl or CD' war. CD's are obviously easier, but vinyl has that warmer feel. Feel free to sound off in the comments.

Thanks again! More R.R. to come, maybe not immediately, as I have a few other records in the pipeline at the moment. Enjoy friends!

    1. I agree. Not sure if that was a contractual thing or not. Who knows. Talla 2 XLC did have his fingers in quite a few things, so you think something would have been included on the NZ comps. I still have all 4!

looks like posting works again ... Yay!

You're lucky because I wrote a whole dissertation on CD vs. vinyl .... lol ...

Long story short, I think that every generation likes to hang onto the things they grew up with, and everything that comes after that, just doesn't come close to it. When CDs first came out, I bought into the whole Vinyl is better than CD thing, but truth be told, vinyl and cassette only sound "warmer" because of the added background noise (even if it's not consciously perceived). I don;t think any artist intends to put out records with that noise and crackling, so I quickly started buying all my favorite vinyls back then in CD format. Add to that the convenience of not having to flip the record around, like we used to have to ... et voila! It was nice to hear Pink Floyd's "Crazy Diamond" on CD for the first time and have the beginning truly come out of "nothing" instead of white noise!

The only time I reach for vinyl versions now is if I find out that the versions are different than their CD counterparts, as is often the case with old 12"es!

Anyways, here's some stuff for you:

The first four ZILLO samplers are amongst my favorite EBM/Goth comps:

  8. I vote CD please.

Personally I find the closer you get to the centre of a vinyl record the worse the sound quality gets, particularly treble sounds, vocals or pianos - basically any sound that doesn't have a smooth wave form. To my ears this doesn't sound warmer it just sounds muddy.
Plus CD is easier for you so it's win win :)

    1. I agree, the ease of the CD is far more time worthy, but I do have to say that vinyl does have a warmer sound. There are a lot of bloggers out there that don't have or use cleaning software when it comes to recording vinyl. THAT is always an issue. Why have a digital file of it if it's going to sound like shit, right?! completely defeats the purpose. Anyway, thanks for the comment!
