Fatal Morgana - The Destructive Solution (Import CD / 1990)

Another lovely find in the lot of records and CD's I received from my beloved KY & Jules! An old school electronic industrial classic from 1989/1990. In my opinion, this seems to fall more into the middle ground of New Beat and Hard Beat, similar to early A Split Second. The EBM label seems to be a bit of a stretch.

'Glasnost!' is the big hit here. That track wound up on what seemed like, every import electronic compilation back in the day. I've yet to give this entire release a go through, so I might be on the same page as a good portion of you when I say that I've yet to hear the full length. Time will tell and I'll hold my judgement on it. Nonetheless, it is a classic! Hell, it was on the Antler Subway label, who seemed unable to do any wrong with the mass of New Beat / Hard Beat releases from 1989-1991!

All recordings are from the actual import CD I'm holding in my hands at the moment. The tray art and CD image are my scans. The front art is a discogs steal, sorry (low pixel count). I've included a few bonus tracks too. The vocal version of 'Attention' and the track I used to hear quite a bit back in 1989 ' I Believe (Techno-Club Mix)'. I nicked these from youtube, but they still sound great. Here is the Discogs link for more information on today's release.

You never fail to amaze! Glasnost was indeed a big underground hit back then (and sounded very progressive ... lol)

Too bad they didn't include their other singles "I Believe" and "Attention" (which had an exclusive Synthpop Remix of Glasnost) ... aaaah I wish I had my old vinyls ... lol

Thank you yet again for this rare treat!

    1. Thanks! Your welcome! I agree, the next 12 inch records I buy (among many) will be 'I Believe' & 'Attention'. I just hate paying import shipping prices via Discogs. Further looking into...

and for good measure, here are the Three Perestroika Mixes from that time that featured all the Russian-oriented Techno songs of that time : https://fs-cache-1.filestream.me/stream/572320bfe4b09755761698db?st=VgXd7Z2GdoHekjWKMdzOuw&e=1462548929&u=wnux0AUq6z44yRoh5Znl

I will create a cue sheet for all three files tonight.

I think you might like some of these. Complete label profile of Crisp Bisuit and Cut'n'Run (basically white label breakbeat remixes) and some Billy Bragg:

    1. Thanks! I'm unfamiliar with either of those labels. Breakbeat was never large on my radar and I have a bit of the Braggster. Will check them out for certain! Working on a new post at the moment... :)

Of all the bands that sound like Depeche, Front242 or Nitzer Ebb, why isn't their one that perfectly combines the sound of all three?!

Until we find that band, here is a classic piece ov vinyl megamixing the three of them: https://fs-stg-4.filestream.me/stream/5730d6fce4b01e9bd57f1d42?st=pe0WFWkNq8fq62U3hS6q4g&e=1463427089&u=wnux0AUq6z44yRoh5Znl
