Cabaret Voltaire - The Covenant, The Sword And The Arm Of The Lord (Japanese Import CD / 2013)

Well, it finally has arrived. All the way from Japan and not too terribly expensive given it's exclusiveness. Exclusive because it includes the bonus tracks from the 'I Want You' 12 inch, well that and it is a Japanese pressing! This was one of the first electronic/industrial records I had purchased. Actually I bought the tape and then followed up with purchasing Front 242 within the following weeks. I was forever changed....for the most part.

Most of the Cabbies back catalogue has all been reissued in one format or the other. I think most Cab fans are really waiting for 'Code' to get the expanded remaster treatment. I found that the recordings here are crystal and brilliant! What I am missing is the deeper bass I had expected with a remastered release. I'm guessing that the original source material can only go as far as it was laid down. I so would love to here some bass expansion with this one. Anyway, here it is in it's full glory. Enjoy friends!

Either use the Depositfiles or Uploadedfiles. They are not interchangeable but have the same content: Vol. 1 & 2 in FLAC

  6. I too bought this on tape before moving on to Front 242 12"s! Thanks also for posting the Give Peace A Dance records. It was seeing the artwork in your profile that made me take a closer look. I have those on CD but the're unplayable. Too many holes in the silver. Cheers, Dave.

    1. Thanks! I had plenty of my older 'first purchased' CD's from ages ago contract the CD rot and wear. Unfortunate. Here's an article I just read regarding that. https://blog.discogs.com/en/say-no-to-disc-rot-how-to-look-after-cds/?utm_source=social&utm_campaign=HowTo_2017_02_08&utm_medium=facebook

    2. I actually remember that Tomorrow's World episode from when it was first shown! It was years after that before I could afford to buy CDs for myself!

  7. Actually, it doesn't have ALL the 12" tracks. They left off "Drink Your Poison", which is rather odd. You'd think if they left one off it might be the IWY 12" mix. But they'd certainly all fit either way.

But "C.O.M.A. is the crown jewel in any case. I believe this the only other CD release of it outside of the Conform To Deform box.

    1. Thanks for looking into it. In this day and age, I can't understand why (most) re-releases / remasters can't give full attention to ALL the material and mixes that were associated with it. It's just damning and another way for the labels to eat my wallet! Ugh!
