Concrete Blonde - Bloodletting (The Vampire Song) (Import CDS / 1991)

It has arrived! I know for certain there will be one person out there who will be over the full moon regarding my latest purchase! This is a hard release to find. I purchased this off of Discogs. The main reason for purchasing it was the 'German version' only available here. The 'French version' has been re-released before. All the art has been scanned and the CD too. All recordings (@320) are directly from this CDS. I'm currently reselling it, but will be willing to re-record it if you would prefer a WAV file. Ok....Enjoy!

  3. and definitely no need to rip in WAV ... most productions are simply not worth a rip in FLAC or WAV (in my opinion) as the differences are almost impossible to hear

    ;-D

    1. I'm going to put up another link for the WAV format, as someone is interested in that. There is quite the arguement out there when it comes to the WAV/FLAC world. I honestly (apparently) don't know enough even to hold my own in the conversations, so I just normally stay out of it, but I did offer. I hope I don't get 'flac' for now recording it wrong or something...lol!

lol ... I see what you did there!

My whole point has always been, if you have to prove your point (about FLAC being signinficantly better) by providing spectral images, then it's definitely not worth the four times greater use of hard drive space ... lol ... there are probably very few Classical CDs, where you can actually hear the difference!

Now, I know I am definitely catching flac for this comment

    3. LOL! Too good. Yeah, unfortunately I'm not one of the most deep & technically educated when it comes to stereophile and sound master manipulations, but I do know what sounds good to my ears on my 300 headphones and 1200 dollar speakers!

  4. You are a fine man, sir! Thank you so much for sharing the wealth! This means more to me than you could know, so I am grateful. I must say I am jealous of your spkrs and I don't even know what kind they are. I spent the last yr trying to decide what to get in new pair and thought I'd spend as much as $1K on a pair, but I've not bought any in SOOOO long. I finally decided to blow my budget on an OPPO BD105 universal disc player and got...(And I'd be interested in hearing your opinion espec as someone who has the background and whose ears I respect..) a pair of the budget speakers du jour 2 Infinity Primus 363's and will be hooking em up shortly as my cables just came in. I figured since I live in smalltown USA and have nowhere to listen or test drive any except for BestBuy and they never have theirs paired together if both are even connected. I got a really good deal on the Infinity's and I can always go up later if they don't satisfy. They'll be in a small room for now with hardwood floors (cringe!!), but once gay divorce's are legalized, I may be moving anyway, so that's no big issue. (LOL)

    Thanks again,
    C

    1. LOL...awesome! You are aces CW.W! Thanks for the comment and info. I actually run a series of speakers...some old, some older. Infinity midrange bookends, Yamaha towers from 10 years ago and some Klipsch La Scalla's from even older. The speakers of course are brilliant, but what powers them should be even more. That's the end I'm working on. Tube amps and the older 80's pre-amps are always on the list if I have the $$$! I hear you in regards to 'smalltown' USA. I live the same. The internet is wonderous when it comes to escaping that cycle. :) Thanks again! Best of luck regarding the marital changes...;)

    2. Thanks for the reply and wishes. Thought I'd pass this along, in case you are anyone else might be interested. I found this on what appears to be a defunct blog, but the link via mediafire to the KCRW/Snap Acoustic session is still active and I highly recommend it, if you are a big fan of CB. The quality is excellent considering and there are some other interesting tidbits on the site as well, such as a mention of the plan for "The Heads" to cont as a longterm project with Johnette on vox until David Byrne spoiled the fun. I don't understand why they couldn't cont under a different name though. Nevertheless, I hope that you check out the KCRW show, which is priceless. Best wishes and thanks again for your excellent blog!

RAF, looks like that "other" EBM Blog is down for sure this time ... UGH!

I've been wanting to rip and share that bootleg EBM/Industrial comp for you but I am missing Volume 2 somehow ... lol .... drives me nuts! Gonna rip the other 7 and keep looking for Vol. 2.

In the meantime, they just reissued "VA - Goth Industrial Club Anthems" from 2005. I don't think it's remastered but a great compilation to share on this blog. It has bot, old and new school stuff. Feel free to relink or whatever.

    1. Hence the rarity. I didn't know about it either, until a good friend of the blog pointed it out to me. The CDS I purchased for this post is back up for sale on Discogs now.
