V/A - Welcome To Technology (Import CD/1991)

Another request from one of my previous posts. This CD was taken from the 1995 4 CD Box Set 'Welcome To The Techno Club'. It has a slue of the early Boy Records releases on it. Boy Records was another favorite label of mine. You can find the original information regarding this release here.
Thanks again to all of you, my followers, readers and fellow bloggers! Happy New Year! Enjoy!

Just filling a few requests from the comments of my previous Official Techno Club post. Everything should be self explanatory here. ALL the scans and recordings are from my own original release. Enjoy!

V/A - The Official Techno Club Compilation (Import CD/1990)

If you have put 10 minutes into looking over this blog, you will see that I have a massive love for the late 80's and early 90's German labels 'New Zone', 'Zoth Ommog' and 'Suck Me Plasma'! I have most of their material, I said most, not all. I will post more in the future. As always, my scans/photoshops of the art and my personal recordings from the source material.

This latest post was one of my favorites, outside of the Warp releases and the 'Technopolis' series, from the early 90's. I recently acquired this CD...again! I had sold it years ago and never made a good recording of it. Got this on Discogs. Not to bad price wise either ($32 from Germany) considering it usually sells for $50 and up. So enjoy this now! Most links that used to be up on the internet have long vanished. ALL the art has been scanned.

Siouxsie & The Banshees - Peek-A-Boo (Ltd. Ed. Promo 12 Inch / 1988)

01 Peek-A-Boo (Big Spender Mix) 6:10
02 Peek-A-Boo (Two Faced Mix) 6:04

Bought and sold this Ltd. Ed. Numbered Promo 12 Inch within a month time and made 10x what I paid for it. Got to love Discogs!  The mixes are pretty nice. I'm certain I would have used them back when I was whipping up the 80's nights I DJ'ed. A nice find, now a nice share...for you! All Art & Recordings are from this actual 12 inch. Enjoy!

54-40 - 54-40 (CD Reissue / 2010)

In 1986, I was an art student studying graphic design at an expensive art school. I had no money to speak of, but always chunked together enough cash to buy records, go clubbing and drink. Funny how that works out. One of my purchases, (again on the cheap as all my stories involving record purchases go) was this debut release from 54.40. I had no clue what it sounded like and had no one telling me to go out and buy it. One of those 'I have a few bucks for cheap-o cut out LP's, let's shop' moments. My decision turned out to be aces! It also became a favourite! Only a handful of friends had even heard of them...and they were musicians in local bands. I knew I was in 'it'. Long story short, I played this LP out, wore down the Cassette tape and finally caved into this new fangled thing called a CD...in the long box...anyone remember that? I loved that CD until it broke. Well, this leads up to the 2010 Wounded Bird reissue. Ah, fresh again! Do enjoy this at your own leisure!

Oh, one last quick note...the track 'I Go Blind'...yeah, this is the group that WROTE & RECORDED it 10 years before Hootie covered it!

Modern English - Ricochet Days (Import CD Reissue / 1992)

I wanted to post this earlier, but the artwork I had was scanned by an amateur (me) from years ago. So, I ordered a new one to keep in my 4 A.D. collection. The last one I had was sold. This is to coincide (roughly) with one of my fellow blogger friends' post here 'Themes From Great Cities'. This is the 4 A.D. reissue from 1992. All the Art and recordings are directly from this release. Here's the Discogs link if you need track times and any other info. Enjoy!

General Public - All The Rage (CD / 1984)

A request here. From time to time, I try to honor requests that you make via the blog or Facebook page. It always comes down to if I have said request and if I do, did I make a solid recording of it and scan the art proper! In the case we are in luck. This is just the '84 release. I need to do a search and see if it has been remastered or reissued with any extra tracks. For now, I have included the UK and US Promo versions of 'Tenderness' within the zipped link. FYI, I pulled these from other blogs I have visited. They are not my recordings or art, for the most part. I thought that might enhance this basic CD release. OK, then. Thanks for staying tuned and checking up. Happy Belated Thanksgiving to all my U.S. friends and followers!

The The - Shades Of Blue (Japanese Import CD EP / 1991)

01 Jealous Of Youth 4:15
02 Another Boy Drowning (Live) 6:09
03 Solitude 2:42
04 Dolphins 3:38

I've been a massive The The / Matt Johnson fan since 1983. It's only appropriate I add some  onto the SSTM page. This is the rare Japanese CD EP pressing from 1991. I'm going to try something a bit different for this post. Along with the 320 version, I will give you the oppurtunity to have a WAV version as well. This is for those of you who prefer the lossless format. My plans are to try and do this with (most) of my upcoming posts. It might be a bit difficult with the vinyl recordings I do. Working that out. I also have issues when it comes to file share sites, as I don't have accounts that allow me to post anything larger than 200MB. Working on that too. If any of my fellow bloggers have some inside info for me regarding any of this, feel free to comment! As always, thanks for checking the page and Enjoy!

Boytronic - Living Without You (Part 1 ) (Import CDS / 2002)

My posts today are based off of one my your (my fellow followers, some of you are anonymous) previous comments. The comment in question was posted on the Depeche Mode 'Behind The Wheel' addition to the blog. It involved sharing a zip file of Boytronic's 2015 Deluxe CD entitled 'The Working Model' I just wanted to say thanks again for sharing it with me and all of the followers. Now, adding to that, here are the two CD single versions of 'Living Without You' from 2002. I have to say that was a bit partial to the Ronan Harris (VNV Nation) Remix on this release. These releases have become a bit hard to find unless you purchase from Discogs a lot. I bought these back then. All art and recording are directly from my copies. Enjoy!

Depeche Mode - Behind The Wheel-Route 66 (Megamix) (US 12 Inch / 1988)

01 Behind The Wheel - Route 66 (Megamix) 7:46
02 Behind The Wheel - Route 66 (Megadub) 6:12
03 Behind The Wheel (Shep Pettibone Extended Remix) 5:53
04 Behind The Wheel - Route 66 (Beatmasters Mix) 7:57

About a month or so past, I was invited to do a guest DJ spot. It was the 25th anniversary of Mad Planet, a club I had residency at for 18 years. For the life of me I couldn't find a 'recorded' version of this megamix. Of course, I did download an mp3 via the internet, but it had me miffed knowing that I didn't have my own quality version of it. Problem solved.

After scouring the entire DM Discogs site and trolling through all (78) Behind The Wheel listings, I realized that the megamix has only been released on the US 12 Inch. Perhaps some of you bigger DM fans can find an alternate and let me know. Either way, I have recorded all the versions here from the vinyl. I was going to use the CDS of 'Behind' from Box Set 4 of the DM singles for the two b-side versions, but they are full on brickwalled! All art is taken from my 12 inch as well. Enjoy!

MCL (Microchip League) - Code Numbers (Import LP / 1987)

01 Microchip League 5:02
02 Satellite 3;56
03 Stranger 5:05
04 New York 4;59
05 Communicate (Razormaid! Mix) 7;18
06 Power Plant 4:20
07 You Know 4;12
08 Short Wave Symphony 5:03

I finally recorded this. That's more of a statement to myself than to you. I bought this ages ago, perhaps not 1987, but short after and have never really played it...let alone recorded it. I already had the 'New York' and 'Communicate' twelve inches along with a bunch of other Razormaid! mixes, so no need, until now. After going through my files, I realized that I had previously downloaded versions of this LP. Most of them were in a sub par bit rate and were not well recorded. So here we go. I realize that this CD is out there 'Different Mixes', but I really wanted the originals. All get out, these are from the vinyl (via Adobe Audition) and they have been cleaned up and re-eq'ed. I'm sure that you will find them a fine addition to your MCL folder, if you haven't already created one. All the art is from my original as well. Enjoy!

Mysterious Art - Requiem (Import 12 Inch / 1990)

01 Requiem (Vocal Clubmix) 5:49
02 Requiem (Instrumental Clubmix) 6:04

Although this is 1990, it certainly maintains a familiar sound similar to mid 80's Propaganda. Once you have that in mind, add 16 Bit 'Where Are You' and you have it covered.

Hubert Kah - Ten Songs (Import CD / 1986-1987)

A quiet Saturday night for a change and I haven't posted for awhile,  so why not drop in some classic Huberet Kah! I don't have any  stories regarding this release, personally, but I remember being overtly happy when I found this. How much on Discogs?!  These are my own scans and I did take the liberty to add the superb (not included on here) track 'The Picture' to the file download. Michael Cretu (Sandra, Enigma etc.) produced this, so you know what to expect...kind of.

Oh Well - 1st Album (Import CD / 1989)

Today's post comes courtesy of one of you, my anonymous followers out there! I regularly receive shares like this in the blog comments, but I usually will not post them for all to see. This is sometimes the request of the person sharing and/or sometimes it's a file I'd prefer not to have on the blog. In this case, it's a go! This is a lovely little rare release. Here's more info for you to read about on the one and only Discogs site. This share was taken from CD and has all the artwork scanned. I must say it is a superior share for the blog as the recording is at 320 (i'd prefer 320 or higher or FLAC) and the art 'IS NOT' taken from the Discogs site, but scanned outright in high d.p.i. So, to my anonymous sharing friend, I say THANK YOU! To the rest of you willing enough to share, let this post be a fine example. Alright then. Now we can move on....Enjoy!

Fatal Error - Fatal Error (Import 12 Inch / 1988)

01 Fatal Error 5:55
02 Track 4:46

Bonus

03 Fatal Error 5:56

A bit of a diversion from my previous posts. I decided to digitize this little lovely! Yes, I picked it up for $1.99 along with a slue of other HTF New Beat records!  A steal it was!  I had my eye on this one and was a bit perplexed. I couldn't recall the track or the artist. I figured that if it was with the 'lot' of New Beat material, then it had to be right on. Looking closer, I noticed the R&S 88009 product number, that was it...mine for certain now! Once home, I clicked into the Discogs site and found the true price for it! Even better. It didn't last more than 2 weeks on the site. I just shipped it out...you know where I'm going with this...so, of course I recorded it and shot all the images!  The bonus track was taken from the 'New Beat Take 2' Import CD. You are welcome!

V/A - Classic Alternatives (Import 6 CD Box Set / 2003)

Alright....let's do this. I realize that many of you out there who follow SSTM have placed a multitude of requests. This is my some what lazy attempt to fill a few of those requests without actually having to post the full 12 inch (which I'd prefer to do)....if I have it or not. That being said, the pictures here are from my box set, which yes, I did sell years ago....blah, blah, blah!

I think that you'll find a lovely cache of typical and hard to find extended mixes on this box compilation. This was a reissue, see Discogs. I don't believe any of these are remastered in any form. Of course much of this has been remastered and reissued by the artists themselves, but that's another story and another bill fold of $$ later!

Gene Loves Jezebel - Suspicion (US 12 Inch / 1987)

01 Suspicion (Jezebel Mix) 6:18
02 Twenty Killer Hurts (Killer 12 Inch Mix) 6:32
03 Suspicion (LP Version) 3:52

Bonus

04 Suspicion (Original Mix) 3:56

Today's post was a request from somebody on another blog I follow. Not sure if that person will see it or not, then again I'm not sure if Paul T will see this either. Nonetheless, it's more Gene Loves Jezebel for your 80's folders. What makes this release vital is the 'Killer 12 inch Remix' for 'Twenty Killer Hurts'. I was hoping this would have been on the G.L.J. 5 CD Reissue Box Set that was released sometime ago, but it wasn't. So, here you go. All the tracks are taken from the box set, except 'Twenty Killer Hurts', which was recorded from this record. The bonus track was actually pulled from the 'Discover' CD reissue in the box set. All art is from my original 12 inch.

Kissing The Pink - Radio On (Import 12 Inch / 1984)

01 Radio On 5:09
02 Katherine Clarke 2:03
03 How Can I Live 3:34

I recently purchased this 12 inch and up until now, had only filed it away. It wasn't until I came across another KTP post on a blog I follow, Madchester Rave On, that it inspired me to convert it. This is quite a diverse release from Kissing The Pink (K.T.P). Released in 1984, it has 3 tracks that are all completely different in their make up and sound. The main track, 'Radio On', has a unique Art Of Noise feel while still maintaining a new wave pitch. Track two, 'Katherine Clarke', is a near bass less romp of echo vocals and sharp guitars. It has a Stranglers feel to it. The third track, 'How Can I Live', borders on an ambient tribal/world beat with female vocals repeating the title. I tried my best to work with this last track. It has sound quality issues that are only heard in the height of the vocal. Perhaps it's the pressing, perhaps it's the age of the record. Either way, it is still a fair enough recording to listen to. All art & recordings are directly from my 12 inch.

Philadelphia Five - Bump! / Jerry (Import 12 Inch / 1988)

01 Baby Do You Want To Bump 6:58
02 Not Leaving Without Jerry 8:05
03 Baby Do You Want To Bump (Rough Mix) 3:47

I've been wanting to post this for sometime. It was recently sold on Discogs, so again, I'm sharing it here...all of my art and recordings from the original KK Records (KK 002) release!  What can I say about these two individuals (Mark Borgions & Jo Lijnen) that were Philadelphia Five? Influential! They whipped up a dark electronic house sound that Cabaret Voltaire would mimic years later. I forget to mention that they were produced by the one and only Luc Van Acker!  This was released in 1988, but the tracks themselves go back a year or so prior. It was a top five underground dancefloor hit in the U.S. for several months! Unfortunate as it is, there are very few releases by the group, but I'd recommend all of them!

V/A - New Wave Club Class X (CD 8 / 1997)

Today's post is an addition to the previous box series posts! I'd like to thank Big Bad Buddha for sharing this with me and now you, my fellow Sidestepping followers! Thanks again! This is not my original burn or art work and the files were originally ripped in Ogg format. I converted them to mp3's and they are at 320kbps, so it is well represented. As you can see, this was released in 1997, after the box set. As far as I'm concerned, they could have gone on releasing these compilations forever! Anyway, big thanks again to BBB...enjoy my friends!

V/A - New Wave Club Class X Traxx Box Set (CD 7 / 1996)

So this is the last CD in the box set. As you can see, the entire series focuses nicely on some of the more rare tracks of the time. I've included a proof picture along with the scans from the actual box within the zip. Thanks for tagging along and commenting towards the blog posts for all seven of these CD's!  Now, please exit on the left side and continue on your way.
