Love And Rockets - If There's A Heaven Above (UK 12 Inch / 1985)

01 If There's A Heaven Above (UK 12 Inch)  7:00
02 God And Mr. Smith  4:49

One of the earlier tracks I ever heard by Love And Rockets, this 12 Inch included the elusive 'God And Mr. Smith' mix which was basically the instrumental of the title track. This was recently (err) released on the 2000 CD Remaster of  'Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven' from which the tracks were taken from. All art was photo'ed from an original (near mint) 12" which I recently picked up for $3!

  3. I don't suppose you have the 7" of this?

  4. No, I don't have it. I always collected the 12ers as opposed to the 7 inches. Thanks for the comment.

  6. Do you by any chance have the US 12" mix?
I recently remixed this album for 5.1/stereo on a Blu-ray release and am about to try & redo the extended editions of both ITAHA and Ball Of Confusion.....would love the stereo originals to compare?

    1. Thanks Neil. I only have the UK versions on vinyl. I do have the five album remastered box set that came out. It does include a varied list of the mixes you speak of. Not sure that helps though. Here is a link to that.https://www.discogs.com/Love-And-Rockets-5-Albums/release/4574729

    2. I've already got that box set as well as the individual releases on original CD plus John Rivers' remastered versions with all the extra goodies (some are even 2CD sets - for example the 4th self titled album has a second disc called "Swing") plus the releases that came after the 4th (and self titled) UK release "Hot Trip To Heaven", "So Alive", "Lift", "Sorted Sample (promo version)", "Sorted" and a second Promo compilation.
Add to this the UK version of 7th Dream & the Canadian version (different tracks).
I also did the remixes for the recent Blu-ray edition of 7th Dream.

This is a highly under-rated band - would there be any chance of the rest iof the 12" singles in lossless 24/96 WAV form please?

    3. Well, it sounds as if you certainly have it fully covered! I'm limited to what I have on vinyl, box set and the etc's! I'll see what I can do, but at this point, the blog will keep rolling until I revisit the artist again. Thanks!

    4. That's where you got me - I do not have the vinyls any longer - lost all mine years ago in a burglary and the thieving s***s took everything. It still sickens me to think about it.

    5. Oh man, that is awful! Steal my car, maybe, but not my VINYL! I'll do some double checking in my collection, but I'm a bit limited at this point. :)

    1. LOL! Thanks DJ U.D.! I have recently prided myself in being able to use quality scans of the originals and focus more on the lossless recordings. I wish I would /could have done that back when I started! Eh....learning curve, I guess. :)
