The Cure - Pictures Of You (Remix) (Promo CDS / 1990) @ 320 w/ Art

Here's another promo CDS I came across a few weeks ago in a used CD/Bookstore. Paid $1 and sold it for $1. I thought it may have acrued more value in the eyes of the Cure completeists out there, but no go.  Nonetheless, it's been added to my oversized Cure folder...perhaps you'd like to add this to yours as well!

When In Rome - The Promise (Promo CDS / 1988) @ 320 w/ Art

So I've had this CDS in my collection since 1988. I picked it up @ one of the local Milwaukee radio stations for free. I'm certain it was (WLZR) that binned this for format reasons. Anyway, it made good giveaway fodder for visitors of the station.

It's just a Radio Edit of the original and has no other tracks.
I've decided to post it here because I recently sold it on eBay for $26. That alone kind of made me wonder....huh?

Eurythmics - Love Is A Stranger '91 (UK 12 Inch) @ 320 w/ All Art

01)  Love Is A Stranger '91 (J.C. Meets The Opressor) @ 6:24
02)  Love Is A Stranger '91 (Instrumental) @ 6:04
03) Love Is A Stranger '91 (Coldcut Remix) @ 7:18
04) Love Is A Stranger (1982 Orig. Album Version) @ 3:46

Just a note worth mentioning, Track 3 & 4 were taken from the 2005 CD Remaster of 'Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of These)'. The vinyl version I have was an overly played club copy and was too worn for any considerable use. The time stamp is the same. Track 4 was included to round out the package and give you an idea of how different the '91 mixes are from the original.

I took a significant amount of time to repair the art (pic. taken from the orig. 12") and to tweak the first two tracks. As I said earlier, the vinyl was a former 'dj' copy and had looked so!  OK, enough with the insight...enjoy the 12'er!

Cabaret Voltaire - Keep On (Import CDS/1990) @ 320

Sheffield industrial pioneers Cabaret Voltaire took a decidedly different turn with their 1990 album, “Groovy, Laidback and Nasty,” heavily influenced by Chicago house music. Even the legendary Marshall Jefferson collaborated on several of the album’s tracks. “Keep On” was the album’s second single; this release features versions by ‘Mixmaster’ Phil Harding and Cab Voltaire.

Derek Thompson (aka Hoodlum Priest) is the Producer/Engineer of this unique 1990 ZTT Records (Art Of Noise, Frankie G.T.H., Propaganda) release. He was certainly influenced by his time in the pivotal experimental industrial act S.P.K., playing bass, keys and trumpet. Following his departure of S.P.K.(Leader Graeme Revell's more commercial approach didn't sit well with him), Derek worked a brief stint with Robert Smith and the Cure (1983).
Hip-hop, industrial, movie dialogue (samples ala Robocop, Bladerunner) and techno influences were used as source material for his sounds, on this, his 1st solo release as Hoodlum Priest. Joining Hoodlum Priest was  Christian rapper Paul Sevier (who had earlier appeared on a John Peel session under the name of Junior Gee). Following this release, ZTT gets bought out by Warner Bros. and his contract is dumped.
